Please Join Us For This Interesting, Informative And Entertaining Presentation
Almost exactly one year after we were all treated to Art Vaughan’s excellent presentation on macro photography, he’ll be returning for his new presentation on anamorphic (cinema-scope / wide-screen) photography. He will be explaining the techniques and equipment he uses and showing a lot of great “anamorphic” images he has taken. This promises to be another interesting presentation by Art… and one that you don’t want to miss. Read below for Art’s explanation of what he’s been doing and about the presentation.
“I’ve been shooting quite a bit with an Iscorama anamorphic 50mm lens, and have adapted the anamorphic compression module to fit other lenses. On a 105mm lens it gives you what amounts to wide angle telephoto (sounds like some kind of contradiction}. I’m even doing macro work with it. The compression module “squeezes” extra image into the frame, which in image prep for digital projection is “decompressed” by resizing in Photoshop to a wide aspect ratio (length = 2x height). I will be explaining anamorphic options, photographic technique, pitfalls, adapting for macro work, plus some of the particular problems encountered (and work-arounds).”.
