Bob LaMay

Hello everyone I am Robert A. LaMay. I am retired and am enjoying this time with my wife Barbara. We reside in the Amston section of the Town of Hebron, CT.  I have been into photography for well over five decades. My specialty is photographing trains in their environment. I have written and published a book with the late Joseph R Snopek. The book is entitled ‘Diesels to Park Avenue – The FL9 Story’. It is a coffee table book containing many excellent color photos. I’ve written numerous articles which have appeared in every rail publication published to date. Also I have photos in numerous railroad calendars and railroad books. I present slides shows to railroad historical groups in southern New England. Recently I’ve joined a couple photography groups and have gotten into the exciting field of macro-photography in nature photography.  I own a Canon 50D, and Rebel XTi. The lenses I own are Canon 15-85 f3.5-5.6 IS USM, Canon Macro lens 100mm f2.8 USM, and a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 APO DG HSM telephoto. For the most part I am an avid Canon camera photographer.

  1. Thank you Judy. I entered six photos in the fair and was able to get six blue ribbons. Pretty cool.

Hi Bob , Your Diesels To Park Ave. book is fantastic ! I bought one a while back and am satisfied . This past summer in 2010 I don’t know if they scrapped 3 or 6 FL9s and F10s because I heard at least 3 came through Rochester,N.Y. en route to a scrapper in Ohio … Do you know any more about this ? Thank you. GOD bless you . Sincerely Jerry Fretto
